About QKC

Nancy Smith

In February of 2002, Nancy Smith organized a group of quilters in Kershaw and surrounding counties to form the Quilters of Kershaw County (QKC). /The QKC became an affiliate of the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County.

We are currently 50 members strong, with members from Kershaw, Lancaster, Lee, and Fairfield counties.

We meet on the second Monday of each month. Coffee and social time is from 9:30 – 10:00 AM. The meetings start at 10:00 AM at the Fine Arts Center in Camden, SC.

In addition to the meetings, we offer field trips and classes throughout the year. The quilters contribute their time to several charitable organizations and are currently making quilts for our veterans at the VA Hospital in Columbia, SC.

We have five Quilting Bees: The Divas of Lugoff, The Bag Ladies of Lugoff 2 area, the Queen Bees of Camden, and the Sew and Sews of East Camden that meet at various times each month. The Worker Bees, our night group, began meeting October 19, 2006. They meet from 6:30 – 9:00 PM the third Thursday of each month at the Fine Arts Center.  Bring your sewing machines because they are always working on projects.

Anyone interested in joining the guild may contact Mary Bruno (803) 432-2883, via email.
